Technical Consultant Bristol Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP26,000 company car

They are looking for a customer focussed individual with a varied technical background to provide this high level of service to clients in the Bristol and Swindon areas.

Technical Consultant - Role

Our client requires a Technical Consultant to deliver on site technical consultancy and who can become the IT Manager for a number of their clients. You must be a self motivated individual with superb communication skills and be very well presented as you will be an ambassador for the company.

Technical Consultant - Duties and Responsibilities

• Working in a team reporting to the General Manager you will be the IT Manager for a number of client businesses

• Your main responsibility will be to visit client’s sites on a regular basis, recommend and assist in implementing technical solutions, trouble shooting network and connectivity issues and making recommendations to clients on how to implement a better IT infrastructure to ensure their businesses gain the maximum benefit from their investment in IT

Technical Consultant – Candidate requirements

• Strong communication skills and influencing skills both with the clients and internally

• Outstanding analytical skills and the ability to prepare a clear and concise route forward for their clients

• Have commercial awareness that allows IT solutions to be placed in a context of business performance and results

• Have the self belief and passion necessary to operate and succeed in the client’s business environment

Ideally you will have an MCSA qualification. You will have experience of supporting a broad range of technologies including some but not necessarily all of the following: Linux, Cisco, Citrix. You will have a good understanding of TCP/IP, Wide Area Networking and Local Area Network setup (including routers, switches and VLAN’s).

Technical Consultant – Key Requirements:

• Project management experience

• Client facing and influencing experience

• Good level of technical knowledge

• Understanding of how IT can provide business benefit to SME marketplace

• Ability to use Technology effectively
